GPU Inc., is an international provider of energy-related infrastructure and services. Domestically, its three electric utility subsidiaries - doing business as GPU Energy - serve two million customers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Through the GPU International Group, GPU develops, owns and operates transmission and distribution facilities overseas. Altogether, GPU serves more than 4.3 million customers around the world. GPU Advanced Resources, Inc. sells competitive retail energy and services in the Mid-Atlantic region.

GPU Service, located in Morristown, New Jersey and Reading, Pa., provides financial, computer technology, investor relations, accounting and other common corporate functions that are delivered most cost-effectively on a centralized basis.

GPU Energy was formed in 1996 from GPU's three operating subsidiaries in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and is responsible for transmission and distribution services. The Reading, Pa.-based company serves nearly two million customers, of which 29% are industrial, 32% commercial, 36% residential and 3% other.

GPU Nuclear, with headquarters in Parsippany, NJ, operates, maintains
and manages the company's two nuclear power plants: Three Mile Island Unit 1 in Pennsylvania and Oyster Creek in New Jersey. More than 20% of GPU's generation is provided from these plants.

GPU Genco, in Johnstown, Pa., operates and maintains 91 non-nuclear  generating units in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland with a combined capacity of approximately 10,000 megawatts of electricity.
About half of that amount is provided by facilities owned by GPU. The plants are fueled by coal, natural gas, hydro and oil.

GPU International owns, operates, develops and invests in generation, transmission and distribution facilities domestically and abroad. The company, located in Parsippany, NJ, has interest in North and South America and Australia, and completed a joint acquisition in the United Kingdom.
